What are the alternatives to Cisco Finesse as an agent workspace?
You have three routes beyond a plain Cisco Finesse desktop: extend Finesse with gadgets and a CRM connector, move agents into your CRM with a connector such as b+s Connects, or run a full omnichannel workspace on top of Finesse. Totalix for Cisco takes the third route: it keeps Finesse and Cisco routing and adds digital channels, AI assist, knowledge and reporting.
The options compared
| Option | What it is | Keeps Cisco routing | Digital channels | CRM embedding | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cisco Finesse | Cisco’s browser-based agent and supervisor desktop for UCCE, PCCE and Webex CCE; extended with gadgets and REST workflows | Yes (it is the Cisco desktop) | Through Cisco digital channel products or third-party gadgets | Screen pop via workflows; CRM embedding needs a connector | Now |
| Webex Contact Center Agent Desktop | Cisco’s cloud desktop with a JSON-defined layout and iFrame or web-component widgets | Yes, for Webex CC | Email, chat, social on Webex CC | Widgets; CRM connectors on Webex App Hub | Now |
| b+s Connects for Salesforce Voice | Bucher+Suter connector putting Cisco CCE, CCX or Webex CC voice into Salesforce Omni-Channel | Yes | Voice; digital via Salesforce | Yes, inside Salesforce (a ServiceNow variant exists) | Now |
| Totalix for Cisco | Upstream Works omnichannel workspace native to Finesse (UCCE, PCCE, WCCE) and Webex Contact Center | Yes: routing, business rules and integrations stay in place | Voice plus chat, email, SMS, messaging, video in one timeline | Same experience embeddable in the CRM; mobile agent option | 1 December 2026 (early adopters from November 2026) |

When it fits
You want to keep Finesse and the Cisco estate but give agents every channel, AI assistance and knowledge in one workspace, and let CRM-based teams work the same conversations.
When it doesn’t
You are replacing Cisco altogether (look at Totalix Complete), or you only need voice in Salesforce, where a connector may be enough.
How Totalix does it
Totalix for Cisco integrates natively with Finesse across UCCE, PCCE and WCCE, and with Webex Contact Center. Agents keep one desktop as you move between Finesse and Webex Contact Center, so a platform migration no longer means retraining the floor. It is bought through the Upstream Works partners who deliver it.

Questions buyers ask
Do we have to replace Finesse to use Totalix?
No. Totalix for Cisco is additive: Finesse stays the agent desktop and Totalix adds channels, AI and CRM embedding on top.
Which Cisco platforms are supported?
Cisco Finesse on UCCE, PCCE and WCCE, plus Webex Contact Center.
Can our Cisco agents work inside Salesforce?
Yes. The same agent experience can be embedded in Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, ServiceNow, Zoho, HubSpot, Halo, Zendesk, Pega, Epic, SAP, Jack Henry or a custom application for the teams who work there.
Is Totalix for Cisco available today?
Early adopters start in November 2026; general availability is 1 December 2026, although our existing V7 solution is available now.
How is it bought?
Through Upstream Works partners, including Cisco specialists such as Presidio, WWT, TTEC Digital, Natilik and Bucher+Suter.
Can it run on-premise for a regulated bank?
Yes. Upstream Works runs omnichannel, AgentNow video, knowledge and AI on-premise inside Finesse today, so a bank can keep customer conversations in its own data center, as banks under Central Bank of Egypt and SAMA rules often need to. Totalix for Cisco On-Premise follows in January 2027.
