Context-Data
What is Context-Data?
Having contextual data means having as much information as possible about a person or interaction. That context lets you personalize the customer experience, tailor offers to the customer, anticipate their needs, and make the interaction more efficient, effortless, and successful.
Context data can include who the customer is, their account and product details, recent orders, open cases, previous interactions across channels and what they were doing just before they made contact, such as the page they were viewing. Brought together, it answers questions an agent or bot would otherwise have to ask, and it can inform routing decisions.
In practice, context data is spread across CRMs, order systems, websites and contact center platforms, so the challenge is integration and timely delivery. Teams usually judge success by fewer repeated questions, shorter handle times, more accurate routing and better first-contact resolution. Privacy rules apply too: organizations need to decide which data is appropriate to show, to whom, and for what purpose.
