Which contact center software can still run on-premise?
On-premise contact center software runs in your own data center or private cloud, run by your own team. The routes are an established platform such as Cisco UCCE or PCCE, a single-tenant hosted instance as a middle way, or an omnichannel platform built to run on-premise. Totalix runs the same code base on SaaS, hosted or, from January 2027, on-premise.
The routes compared
| Route | Where it runs | Who operates it | Channels and AI | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cisco UCCE or PCCE | Your data center | Your team or a Cisco partner | Voice and routing; digital channels through Cisco digital channel products or third-party gadgets | Now; versions 12.5 and 12.6 reach their last date of support on 31 December 2027, and Cisco recommends version 15 or higher |
| Cloud contact center (CCaaS) | The vendor’s multi-tenant cloud | The vendor | Depends on the vendor | Now; not on-premise by definition |
| Upstream Works, current release | Your data center, or a dedicated cloud instance | Your team, a partner or Upstream Works | The current Upstream Works omnichannel release | Now: Upstream Works software has always run on-premise, and as a dedicated cloud since version 5 |
| Totalix Dedicated Hosted | A single-tenant instance that serves only your organization, placed to meet data-residency commitments | Upstream Works | Every Totalix channel, UWXP, AI Agent Assist, knowledge and reporting | 1 December 2026 |
| Totalix Partner Hosted | The cloud of the Upstream Works partner who delivers it | The partner, with telephony, integration, managed service and regional compliance around it | The same as Dedicated Hosted | 1 December 2026 |
| Totalix On-Premise | Your own data center or private cloud | Your team, to your own standards and change calendar | The complete Totalix platform, on the same code base as every other model | January 2027 |

When it fits
Your regulator, your security policy or your region rules out a shared cloud for customer conversations, or you run a strong in-house operations team and prefer to keep your own estate.
When it doesn’t
No rule requires it and you have no team to run infrastructure: SaaS or Dedicated Hosted gives you the same product with far less to operate.
How Totalix does it
Totalix On-Premise deploys the complete platform into your own data center or private cloud, operated by your team to your own standards and change calendar. It is built for the regions where cloud services are uncommon or not accepted, the industries that mandate on-site control of customer data, and sovereign and defense environments. Because every deployment model runs the same code base, moving to a hosted model later is a migration, not a rebuild.

Questions buyers ask
Is on-premise contact center software still available?
Yes. Established platforms such as Cisco UCCE and PCCE run on-premise, and Totalix On-Premise arrives in January 2027 with the complete platform in your own data center or private cloud.
Can we run Upstream Works on-premise today?
Yes. Upstream Works software has always run on-premise, and since version 5 it has also run as a dedicated cloud. Totalix is the first release shipped as true multi-tenant SaaS as well, and Totalix On-Premise follows in January 2027.
Is the on-premise version a different product?
No. Every Totalix deployment model, SaaS, Dedicated Hosted, Partner Hosted and On-Premise, runs the same code base, so you can move between them later without re-implementing.
Can the AI run on-premise too?
Yes, on request. UWXP runs in the cloud, with on-premise deployment on request, on specialized small language models with no training on customer data.
What if we need our own instance before January 2027?
Dedicated Hosted gives you a single-tenant instance placed to meet data-residency commitments, and Partner Hosted runs it in your delivery partner’s cloud; both are available from 1 December 2026.
Who is On-Premise for?
Regions and industries where cloud is not an option, sovereign and defense environments, and organizations with a strong in-house operations capability.
Does it work with Cisco Finesse on-premise?
Yes. The current release integrates with Cisco Finesse on UCCE and PCCE and runs on your own servers, with omnichannel, AgentNow video, UW Knowledge & Assist and UWXP AI assist. It suits banks that must keep customer data in-house, such as those supervised by the Central Bank of Egypt or SAMA.
