Upstream Works Mourns the Unexpected Passing of CEO Rob McDougall

 

Dear Friends,

Upstream Works is deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of its beloved CEO, Rob McDougall. Above all, Rob was a devoted husband and father. To Upstream Works, Rob was our leader, innovator, colleague, and friend. He brought passion, excellence, and humanity to every role in his life. Rob was also particularly proud of his more than three decades as a Leader for Scouts Canada.

Rob dedicated his entire professional life to innovation. With an Electrical Engineering degree from Western University, he began his career as a product development manager at Perle Systems. Over the last 26 years, as co-founder of Upstream Works, his passion for developing technology solutions came together with his vision as an entrepreneur, his role as a mentor and leader to his work family, and his commitment as a trusted associate to his partners and customers.

To us, he was far more than our company founder; he was a true visionary, a mentor, and a friend to so many,” said Sean Snider, Chief Operating Officer, Upstream Works. “His passion for technology and relentless pursuit of excellence inspired us all. We are profoundly grateful for his incredible contributions and the legacy he leaves behind. To honor this, as a company, Upstream Works is steadfast in its commitment to carry on Rob’s vision to create solutions that solve real problems for our partners and customers.”

In the interim, Upstream Works will be directed by the executive team, who worked alongside Rob and will continue to guide the company with care and dedication to Rob’s vision as we move forward.
